Engineering-First Automation: What SSI Builds
At Secondary Solutions Inc, we build practical vision and workflow verification systems for real factory environments.
That starts with a simple principle: define acceptance criteria clearly, design around real production constraints, and make sure the result is supportable on the floor. Good automation is not about adding complexity for its own sake. It is about creating stable inspection, clear operator workflows, and dependable response logic that helps production teams move faster with fewer mistakes.
Our work includes barcode and 2D code verification, custom vision platforms, PLC/HMI workflow logic, data capture and traceability, reject handling, and line integration around labeling, weigh checking, and X-ray. We also build modular platforms such as Vision Tunnel for multi-side continuous-motion inspection and Vision Tower for targeted verification at critical checkpoints.
Every application is different, which is why SSI does not start with a one-size-fits-all template. We start with the process itself. What defines pass or fail? How is the product presented? What throughput does the line need to maintain? What should happen on a mismatch: alarm, stop, reject, or log only? Once those answers are clear, we scope the sensing, controls, workflow logic, and data outputs around the reality of the job.
SSI operates from two coordinated Rockford facilities. One is dedicated to inspection and vision systems engineering, validation, and support. The other supports sorting, assembly, and CNC machining workflows. That structure helps us move from concept to build to commissioning with direct engineer communication and clear ownership throughout the project.
Whether the need is a targeted barcode verification step, a custom inspection platform, a reject-handling workflow, or a broader data and traceability solution, the goal stays the same: build something reliable, practical, and supportable for the people who use it every day.
If you are evaluating a new inspection point or trying to tighten quality and traceability on an existing line, start with a short summary, a few photos, and your acceptance criteria. SSI will help define the practical next step.
